Regrettably, the Great Atlantic Way project cannot proceed. It has not been possible to obtain the support of Government Office South West which was requested and essential to develop the business case. The business case was needed in order to establish the funding from the private and public sectors which would bring the project to fruition.

This was made clear in the Special Bulletin issued in November 2005. A copy of this Bulletin which reviews the project and all that has been done by so many supporters and skilled professionals can be downloaded from this site (Special Bulletin November 2005).

I would like to thank the many organisations and individuals who, over the last four years, have helped support and develop this ground breaking project to support the economic regeneration of Cornwall's rural communities. It is with sadness that I cannot continue to fund the project alone.
